Counsellors

Over 50 counsellors covering the whole of Cornwall.

Many counsellors have been working with the centre for several years and have a great deal of experience working with the ongoing effects which can come from being raped or sexually abused. All the counsellors are trained to diploma level and above and have received intensive specialist training around the issues of rape and sexual abuse.

(Some of our counsellors may be in their final year of training in clinical practice.)

Counselling

You are encouraged to talk to your counsellor about anything in life you find difficult. Together you focus on ways of making choices that feel right for you. You will never be asked to go into details about the sexual abuse but will be encouraged to talk about any feelings you had then, how you feel now and how you would like to feel in the future.

History

The Centre was opened in 1986 in a small room in Camborne, by two women that recognised a need for a service to support people that had been sexually abused. Year on year the demand for the service grew and now CRASAC is one of the biggest sexual abuse services of its kind.
